Big Learning!

In Numeracy we will continue to work on Multiplication and Division. Children making good progress in learning times tables facts will be moving on to multiplying by 10/100, multiplying multiples of 10 by a single digit and multiplying 2 and 3 digit numbers by a single digit.

We will also be continuing our work on telling the time.

Our focus sound for spelling next week will be the long ‘o’ sound using oa and ow. Your child should have their group words copied into their Home Learning jotter which came home on Friday. The children can practise their words in any way they like, there are plenty of ideas on our Spelling Menu

In Literacy we will be reviewing the use of the apostrophe for contractions and possession.

We will be investigating Victorian toys and thinking about designing our own toy which uses push/pull forces to move.

In Science we will be looking at what makes things speed up, or slow down.

I have scheduled our personal presentations on ‘Famous Victorians’ for the next few Fridays. All children should now be prepared to present a 2 minute talk on their chosen individual; I will let the children know at the start of the week if they are to present on the following Friday.

P3 will be presenting the Easter Service at Crown Church on the last day of this term. This week we are going to start preparing by looking at the Easter Story.

Don’t forget ‘World Book Day’ this Thursday! Come dressed as your favourite book or film character, remember your story box entry if you are taking part and bring your favourite book to school. We will be buddying up with P7 for some fun activities in the afternoon!
