Time to look ahead to this week’s Big Learning in Primary 3!
In Numeracy we will be completing our work on Place Value by looking at rounding numbers to the nearest 10/100 and ordinal numbers, before beginning work on addition strategies.
We will be moving on to look at 3D Shape in Maths; identifying a variety of different shapes and being able to talk about their properties using the correct vocabulary – faces, edges and vertices.
In Literacy we will continue to work on our Common Words; we are making good progress with these through daily practice at Target Time. Our focus sound for spelling this week will be the short ‘a’ sound, as in ‘happy’. We will also be looking at adding more description and detail to our writing with the use of interesting adjectives.
The class came up with some amazing ideas and questions when planning ‘What we want to find out…’ about ‘Water’. We are going to begin by looking at the changing states of water; evaporation and condensation.
